Frequently asked questions
What is ACA reporting?
Applicable large employers (50 or more full-time equivalent employees) must file Forms 1094-C and 1095-C with the IRS and furnish statements to employees. California also has its own reporting requirements.
What is a Section 125 (POP) plan?
A premium-only plan lets employees pay their share of premiums with pre-tax dollars, which can reduce payroll taxes for both employer and employee. It requires a written plan document.
Does COBRA apply to my business?
Federal COBRA applies to employers with 20 or more employees. Cal-COBRA generally covers employers with 2 to 19 employees. We help with notices and timelines.
What does open enrollment support include?
Communication materials, enrollment meetings or webinars, benefit guides, and help for employees with questions.
Are you providing legal advice?
No. We provide benefits guidance and administration support. For legal questions, consult an employment attorney.
What does a broker cost the employer?
Many compliance support services are included with our broker relationship. Third-party filing vendors may charge separate fees, which we disclose in advance.
